15 - 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, optional

# Steps:

01 - Cook noodles according to package directions. If using shirataki noodles, rinse thoroughly and pat dry. If using rice noodles, cook and drain well. Set aside.

03 - Add minced garlic, ginger, and half of the sliced green onions to the skillet. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
04 - Stir in shredded carrots and cabbage. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until vegetables soften slightly.

06 - Add cooked noodles and prepared sauce to the skillet. Toss thoroughly and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until heated through and well combined.
07 - Spoon turkey noodle mixture into butter lettuce leaves. Garnish with remaining green onions, sesame seeds, and fresh herbs if desired.
08 - Serve immediately as handheld wraps.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It tastes like you're eating something indulgent but your body knows it's actually nourishing.
  • Everything happens in one skillet, which means minimal cleanup and more time enjoying the meal.
  • The lettuce cups feel like fun handheld wraps, turning dinner into something playful rather than routine.
02 -
  • Shirataki noodles need aggressive rinsing and proper drying or they'll make your whole dish watery and smell faintly unpleasant.
  • Don't overcrowd your skillet when browning the turkey—give it space so it actually browns instead of steaming itself.
  • The sauce should taste intentional on its own before hitting the pan, because that's when you can adjust seasoning without having to fix everything else.
03 -
  • Prep all your ingredients before you start cooking—this dish moves quickly and you won't have time to mince garlic once the turkey hits the pan.
  • Keep your lettuce leaves in a bowl of ice water for the last few minutes before serving so they're perfectly crisp and cool against the warm filling.
